Benestic is a project that is born of the agreement of three entities on the need to:

• Promote technological innovation in social services.
• Develop appropriate services and projects to improve efficiency in service delivery.
• Aggregate distributed knowledge in the social sector and focus it on the collaboration and implementation of best practices.
• Increase the technological skills of professionals.

From these basic ideas, the Consortium of Social Action of Catalonia, i2cat Foundation and the Social Third Sector Association have joined forces to build a strategy and action plan to make Benestic start work to extend implementation of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) to social action.

Benestic is a foundation of public sector (in start-up process) that wants to develop a set of initiatives to benefit social sector and ICT industry, with the aim of becoming the reference entity in terms of innovation and ICT implementation for Social Welfare in Catalonia.

To achieve this goal, Benestic is open to all those who want to join the project: companies, governments, nonprofit organizations and professionals who believe in innovation, cooperation and commitment as the main drivers for improving the welfare of people in the Knowledge Society.
